October 13th is the last day for New Yorkers and visitors to view the public artwork “New York City Waterfalls”, by Danish artist Olafur Eliasson. The display of four man-made waterfalls, set at points around historic New York Harbor, opened on June 26th. Eliasson said his desire for this project was to place a natural, ephemeral element such as water in the midst of the urban environment in a new, unexpected way.
Annie Shreffler also contributed a video to the coverage of the waterfalls opening (very rainy) day for WNYC.
